if I am not running can I participate by being a volunteer?
YES...
Volunteers are greatly appreciated and needed! Please visit the Volunteer Info link on this site to get all the information needed on being a volunteer. Students please bring any volunteer hours verification forms you may have from your school.

Will there be port-o-potties along the course?
Yes: Porta Potties will be on the course about every 1.5 miles, free standing bathrooms at the park

Can I walk the course?
Yes:
  1.5 hours to finish the 10k, that’s about 15minutes plus per mile. Sooo... walkers are welcome, stroller moms / dads and walking clubs.

Is the course accurately measured and marked?

Yes: We have measured the course using a GPS watch and checked it three different times with three different runners. That is the best we can do, as you know GPS will vary slightly from time to time but it’s the best we can offer for you. Feel free to check it out on your own watch if you have time prior to the race. There will be mile markers on the course.

What is Package pickup? and Where is it located?
This is where you pick up your race timing chip, race bib #, and race day t-shirt, ask your pre- race questions, check out the course map. This will be your last chance to register for this race,
NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION. 

Package Pickup location: to be announced soon - noon to 4 pm

Can I register for the race at the packet pick-up location?
YES...You can register for the race at the package pick-up there are NO Discounts Package pickup and we only accept cash or credit cards, NO CHECKS. You can also register online or by sending in the registration form. Online registration closes Friday at midnight.

Can I pick up my race packet on race day??

YES...This year 2017 - packet pickup will be ON SUNDAY race day.  its a smaller event this year so show up early, check in, and we race!


Can I transfer my registration to someone else?
Yes... Just send us an e-mail to bill@elitesportsca.com and we will workout the details. DO NOT give your number to anyone else and let them run in your place. They will be disqualified.

 

How does the Team scoring work?
The fastest TEAM: (of two people) that crosses the Finish line in each of the designated categories wins ( 5k and 10k only).  This is a chip timed event so the timing company will verify who the top teams will be.   You and your teammate DO NOT  have to cross the line at the same time.  Both team members must finish to qualify for any prizes. 

Can I win more than one prize
NO... Only one prize per person.  Winning bib #'s WILL NOT be eligible for the individual bib#  drawing.

Is there a refund policy for this race?

Sorry but NO...there are no refunds! However, you may defer your entry to another one of our races in the future.  You can find all of our events at www.EliteSportsCA.com 

I don’t know the course should I just follow someone?

NO: All athletes are required to know the entire course prior to stepping onto the starting line. Please study the race course map on this site, and maybe ride or jog the course if you have time prior to race day.

What is a wave start and how does it work?

 Wave starts are designed to reduce race start congestion while improving your race running experience.  In a wave start; runners will start in groups separated by 2 minute intervals. This way you can run with others who are similar to your own speed.   A wave start will allow you plenty of space along the course, at the aid stations and at the finish line, without affecting your chip time or the time you have to complete the race.  On race day you will line up under / behind the banner that best fits your estimated running pace per mile, see chart below.  Click here for printable version of this chart
